Friendly and helpful staff. Impressive how much they're able to fit in such a small space. They have everything you could possibly need for your home - I purchased an electric screw driver, hand soap, and a pretty woven basket in the same trip!
Plus the cashier, who thought I couldn't understand Spanish, muttered a few dirty words as I was leaving. Overall uncomfortable experience.
Great hardware store. Paint is too expensive.

Knowledgeable staff. Occupies two adjacent storefronts so they have about twice the inventory of your average non chain local NYC hardware store, thus your odds of finding something are also twice as likely. Full service paint mixing too.
Would definitely stay away from this store if you are looking to get Benjamin Moore paint. They don't have all the kinds in stock, even though they say they do on Benjamin Moore's website, and the staff at the paint counter don't have any professional knowledge and won't be able to give you any advice. I went in knowing exactly the type and colour I wanted to get and he still got it wrong the first time. A sample cost 10 bucks here which is also higher than what's shown on Benjamin Moore's website.
