I was told to go inside the office and talk to another person (perhaps an officer or staff). That other person was very helpful and accommodating, answering all my questions. Unfortunately that other person gave me a wrong form (totally different from what I needed). I wish I had double checked the form before leaving. Would have saved me a lot of time and effort.

We raced from NJ to get there before 12. The people down stairs called our number quickly and could not have been more kind and helpful. We met the consular who was incredibly positive and respectful. There was a few hours to kill so we went across the street to Barnes N Noble. The consular greeted us again as she sat down to eat her lunch. She is all smiles and absolutely delightful. She even offered me some of her lunch! Could not have been a more positive experience. This is why Filipino Americans have such a good reputation.

Best to check their website first, then go to this place.

All I can give is ZERO star. I have been calling for 2 days but still nobody answers the phone call. The so called press (*)star followed by the "EXTENSION NUMBERS" are INVALID. Press "0" for more questions and voice mail does not help at all. It's always unable to take your call right now. Please leave your name, phone number, email address, and brief message? Seriously???!!!! Does anybody want to take responsibility just by answering a phone call?!!! Better delete the contact numbers in your website!!!! How can you better help your fellow citizens with this kind of customer service?!!!

I wish i could put a negative star on this. I renewed my passport and they couldn't find the envelope because of a different last name. I told them i tried to change my name but they wouldn't let me but I already prepaid the envelope. After that was sorted, they still wouldn't release my renew passport because they said I didn't cancel my old passport. I said I did. They said send us a picture through our mobile phone. I was like you're not serious. Yes we are because you didn't cancel your passport. I said I did! I sent them a picture of my passport with holes on it. Get your act together. You're supposed to be there to make it convenient for Filipinos in the northeast but instead you make it harder for us!

Im sure everyone has their own experiences with regards to their visit. I went just a minute ago to renew my passport and I am extremely satisfied with the service not to mention the speedy filing process. It literally took me 15 mins total to get it done. The receptionist and the man facilitating the lobby helped me out with some of my questions. He gave me a slip and went to the basement for processing. Just a tip for everyone renewing their passport, have your photocopies of your passport, permanent residency (if applicable) and your filled out passport renewal form ready.

I would have wanted to give this a 5-star rating if it wasn't for the security or receptionist, or whatever the position of the first person you will see when you enter the office. Perhaps it was the summer heat that made the person not so friendly when greeting us Filipinos who went there and asked for help, but it would be nice if the person will be friendly, especially since he/she is the first person you will see when you go inside. The person did answer my questions but didn't seem really interested to help fellow kababayans.
