Soon you discover that it is not two lines after all; it is only one line which is broken up into two columns and the beginning of left line leads to the end of the right line; everybody begins standing in the left line no matter what they want.

3. They ticket number calling is random. They call 1, 2, 100, 55, 22, 4... etc. How can you even go to bathroom for fear of missing your number.

- A printed itinerary for your trip (flights were sufficient for me)

Read the instructions on their (Web 1.0) website, bring the materials they tell you to bring, show up between 2 and 4 on any weekday except Thursday, and you'll be a happy camper. I was in and out in about an hour and it was a very easy experience. I was shocked by the number of people who showed up without requisite materials (the USPS money order, online application confirmation, etc.) and were outraged that they were unable to receive their visa. Just follow the instructions and you're good.

- The printed confirmation page of your online application

Brazil has conducted a periodical population census since 1872. Brazil is widely known to be one of the most diverse countries in the world. Since 1940, this census has been carried out decennially. Scanned versions of the forms for each census distributed in Brazil since 1960 are available on-line from IPUMS International.

- 1 2"x2" passport photo

Very bad compared to 11 years ago. They were better when they used paper. Their computer system is bad!!!

Staff was very friendly and the whole place is very organized. Expect a security check and metal scanner to enter, then you explain what you are there to do and you get a ticket number that carries you through your visit. I acquired my temporary Visa the same day, approx 1hr 20 minutes of waiting total from start to finish.

Regarding Country Brazil's population is very diverse, comprising many races and ethnic groups. In general, Brazilians trace their origins from five sources: Europeans, Amerindians, Africans, Levantines, and East Asians.

TO MAKE IT SUPER CLEAR, AS OF NOV 2017 YOU NEED TO BRING:

2. System is unreliable. I went there, got a ticket, waited... They said the system is down so you have to come back another day.

If you would like to know what the address of "The Consulate General of Brazil in New York" is, then do NOT go to their website, it does not list their address, but type this into a search engine, and hope you are directed to the correct address (and not to the old address of the old consulate on 46th St.) Good luck, enjoy your vacation.

1. Only digital way to submit. What about for people who don't have computer or don't know how to use it? Uploading the picture was a joke! They need a physical picture anyways.

Ok typical Consulate environment.

I give three stars because it doesn't matter if they hate you or if they love you, this is the only game in town when you want to pay your $160 American Dollars for a visa to fly to Brazil. And they know it. You walk in past the metal detectors, and there are two signs: For Passports, go into the Left line. For Everything Else, go into the Right line. I didn't want a Passport, I wanted something else, so I went to the "Everything Else" line, which is the wrong line. If you want a visa, you stand in the left line, for Passports; do not stand in the line for Everything Else.

Be sure to come prepared with the right paperwork and your experience should be flawless. Everything about their hours, fees, and ONLY accepting US Postal Service Money Orders is available on their website, so read carefully.

Overall, their system is very very very bad! I lost my confident on them.

- A USPS money order covering any fees associated with your visa ($160 if you're an American). They do not accept checks, cash, or anything except a United State Postal Service money order (very easy to get from any post office).

Historically, Brazil has experienced large degrees of ethnic and racial admixture,
