Worst of all, I finally got a chance to meet with the consular for an interview and after presenting her with all my documents required for the trip. She requested I show a proof employment. I wasn't going for anything work related, this was a school trip and I had all documents from the state University, showing the purpose of the trip, current enrollment etc.
I used to hear that Argentina is one of the most racist countries in the world. I saw this first hand. I strongly believe she couldn't imagine a young and smart lady like me could work for this company (Company name withheld). You could tell from the look on her face..
I literally pleaded with her because fortunately I had my work computer with me. I told her I could email them copies of my most recent pay stub, i had my work and school ID on me. She insisted she wanted me to come back with a notarized proof of employment with company's letter head. This wasn't listed on the their website for any category of Visa types. Mind you I don't live in New York and had to drive 4 hours for this appointment.
A consulate that doesn't have an efficient secretary to receive documentation, instead you have to knock the door and interrupt constantly to be announced by yourself ... a disaster !
Horrible service the staff have nasty aptitude!!
Very rude customer service. I just got off the phone with the customer service agent and she wasn't even patient to listen to me on the phone. She asked me to send an email??? Duhhh?? That's exactly why I called M'am, to get all the information I need. I'm supposed to be going to Argentina for a study abroad program, and my first experience still in the US is this?? You can do better at your Consulate office.
I don't think they professionally don't know answers should be fired. How sad !!!
I wish it was a lower quality grade than poor to write my review. But is not. Poor is the lowest, so I will go with it.
I am ashamed of these people that represents Argentinians in one of the most famous city in the world.
I was in the Consulate three times over the span of a week for visa purposes and each time was a delight. Each employee I deal with there was incredibly polite and helpful and I never had to wait longer than ten minutes to see Monica about the visa applications. Speaking of Monica, she's an angel. She was so helpful and so willing to go above and beyond to make the process as smooth as possible. If you have to go here for any reason rest assured you'll be taken care of!
[Review- Interview Day: Meeting with the Consular Officer]
