With regard to those who say the people working at this consulate are "not polite", I suggest you come prepared if it's citizenship you seek. Asking for citizenship is not a joke and because YOU think you should be offered citizenship doesn't mean that you qualify for it. I did my due diligence and made sure I came fully prepared. I had NO problem. In and out from the time I sat down with the man who reviewed my documents in maybe 20 minutes to half an hour. The interview ended with "Congratulations!" Don't waste their time or yours. Do your homework. It's hard but you won't get away with anything.
Passport appointment went really well, professional and very friendly staff. Very organized and efficient, building is gorgeous, received passport in mail much faster than expected. Overall no complaints and had a very good experience.
Outstanding experience! Was skeptical because of the prior reviews but was pleasantly surprised! I needed to obtain a "codice fiscale" which does not require an appointment. Went with 3 other family members & we were in & out in less than an hour! Giovanna assisted us all. Such a nice group of people!!
I had my passport done and the lady in the passport office was very helpful and patient.
Just as bad: apparently, these "people" seem to have forgotten that, in NYC (or most of the US, as for that matter), smoking indoors is not allowed: "Lauretta" came out with a cigarette and lighter, which she clearly intended to use.
Great job!
Don't understand the negative reviews.
Fortunately, the reason I went to this rubbish tip earlier today wasn't anything as high-stakes as citizenship or a visa, but still. You'd think that, if they host a book launch, and I RSVP as instructed, I'd be able to attend the event -- but no. Some b____h named Lauretta checked some list she had, informed me that my name wasn't on same, and turned her back on me. Another "staff member" tried to be more polite and at least asked whether I had an email confirming my attendance/ invitation -- a requirement which wasn't mentioned anywhere in the event information I received.
Couldn't agree more re: the rudeness, laziness, and sheer lack of any kind of professionalism or courtesy at this place.
I had a great experience. Staff is very courteous and although busy they try their best to help.
I've already made a detailed complaint to the event organisers and will be making them to the Consulate itself, as well as relevant NYC authorities.
