Here are the few words that I can use to describe the behaviors of the employees of this consulate:
Really helpful consular officers. Amazing first impression of the republic.
• Rude
• Not responsive (don’t answer phone calls, don’t reply to e-mail, don’t return phone calls). If you are lucky to get in touch with a person at the consulate, he/she will be rude and unprofessional with you
0 or negative Stars. Do not expect anything from the people that 'work' in this consulate. For starters, the clocks on the walls showing South African time are wrong. Expect double the time for processing (the website says 5-10 business days) paperwork. They also deviate from the required documents checklist online. Incompetent judgement at best. If this is any indication or representation of what to expect in country, I would recommend not going.
They were very accomodating & super helpful. The lady assisted me with my paperwork much faster than expected. Great service.
It is really shame how the consular general of this consulate sees all these bad comments about the employees of this consulate and still nothing is being done to correct it. Someone will say but they reply when you communicate with them via Facebook, my answer to these people:
What kind of a diplomatic mission that you can get hold of them only via social media but not via traditional professional ways such as phone, and e-mail?
I read terrible reviews and went in afraid it would be horrible but it was not. Everyone was friendly and informative.
