Great for casual fun date nights and group hangs.
There's a pretty good chance you will be singled out on the rooftop bar/restaurant on the 4th floor of the Yotel for various prejudice reasons. I stayed at Yotel for Amazon Web Summit (8/13 - 8/15), a work conference and had a horrible experience when my girlfriend and I tried to take a picture overlooking the H&M during our extended weekend.

Let's paint the scene here... When I first arrived to the hotel I was business casual. When I walked out on the terrace I had on jeans, a t-shirt, and a Brooklyn Nets hat. I asked if she needed me to change to look less casual and she wouldn't entertain the idea.
Stunning terrace view of midtown Manhattan backdrop. Drinks are priced well--nice selection of cocktails and bottled beers. Casual eats like pizza, fish n chips, etc. daytime is awesome. Evening is even better.

After explaining what happened he introduced me to Diana Kim, the Event Sales Manager for Social Drink and Food. He explained that Yotel has no control over their events and she was the person to talk to. After explaining the issue she offered us a comped dinner in their restaurant, a drink from the bar, and to allow us to go out on the terrace.
I was a hotel guest, a conference attendee, and invited to the terrace for happy hour. As soon as I walked outside I was greeted by an event manager who quickly let me know that I was not allowed outside on the terrace. I explained that I was invited and a hotel guest, but was told that I could not stay for the event. I asked for an explanation and she could not articulate one other than saying, I just wasn't allowed outside.
Social Drink and Food host private events under their Green Fig and The Green Room 42 umbrella. My review is solely based on the overall treatment by Social Food and Drink staff and not Yotel.
That's my experience, hope it helps prevent someone else from feeling mistreated and singled out like we did.
There were no signs outside explaining where you could and could not sit or be. The event ran 1.5 hours over the allotted time - per hotel management - and I requested to speak to the Yotel manager and explain my story since I felt that I was not being treated fairly as a hotel guess trying to use the terrace. While waiting for a manager I witness at least 2 other couples walk out to the terrace with no credentials. There were not approached, the did not get kicked out, and were also dressed casually.
Great rooftop bar, cocktails, and ambiance! The décor is fun and creative and perfect for a beautiful day. The menu isn't very extensive, but they have vegetarian options and patio games, so I'm a fan!
We declined the meal and accepted her offer for a drink after we returned from our original dinner plans. I would still avoid their events and restaurants all together from here on when on work trips. I can honestly say that if you're not a "certain type of crowd" you will be singled out at this venue.
