Came in on a packed Saturday night. Me and my friends had hard time finding a spot to seat, but shortly after we walked in, a severer named Lindsey assisted sitting us, Lindsey made our night great! The atmosphere was fantastic! Looking forward for another weekend night at The Butcher!
Mixed Review. I've been here twice. It was OK the first time and pretty great the second time. Just this past week I had the Butcher BBQ Burger, which is essentially a burger, topped with pulled pork (my choice, the other choice is smoky brisket). It comes with coleslaw and was really great.
A great yelp find
The "meat candy" is a must have for meat lovers. Corn bread with honey butter is pretty descent too. Unless you like extra runny baked beans, I'd stay away from that item.
We happened to see this place online and decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. We ordered the fried pickles and the meat candy to start. After that we knew we would be back. The pickles were fried just right and the meat candy was delicious. But neither of those prepared me for the monster 50/50. It was an enormous pile of pork on top of another enormous pile of brisket. The portions were well sized and easy to share. The staff were friendly and our waitress Elisa was attentive. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal.
We were seated pretty quickly and the servers were really nice both times. My overall impression is pretty good, but not amazingly great. Mighty Quinn is better and Hill Country is also better. But I would certainly return, especially because of the convenient location.
Nice ambience, music is just at the right volume, you don't have to scream to be heard by others on your table.
BBQ places have popped up in the city but this one of the good ones. They do well with their meats. The brisket was so tender and juicy. It had a nice smoky flavor without it being overwhelming. It was also seasoned well without any sauce. The burnt ends were drier but still a good choice. The ribs were so tender but needed more seasoning. The mac and cheese needed more salt and more sauce. The cornbread was a surprise however. It was tender and moist, most places are too dry but this one hit the spot. The honey butter added a nice subtle sweetness which I appreciated after the consumption of the yummy meats. I like the casual feel of the restaurant, definitely will be returning for my BBQ.
