Good food and good environment. But I REALLY feel they were rushing us so much to eat. They brought the birthday cake only 3 minutes after we started eating the main meal. As soon as as they remove the plates they got me the check right away like "it's time to go" while there were some many empty tables. I don't like that.
This is a good spot for dancing a on weekend nights. The top floor has Latin music and the bottom floor has top 40/hip hop type music. The cover isn't to much and there usually isn't a line.
Love this place. I go every year for my birthday. Top & lower floors of dancing, reggae, hip hop, R & B music lower level. Upper level all Spanish music main floor is a restaurant.
Great food. Quick service. Friendly servers. Nice decor. clean. excellent experience would definitely return.
The Iguana has become one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. Conveniently located on 5th Street just a few steps West of Broadway, this Mexican restaurant offers a nice variety of excellent meals. We are not a New Yorkers so we go here several times during our visits to the city. I have never ordered the same thing twice and everything has been very enjoyable, flavorful and gratifying. The margaritas are also very good. Compared to the other restaurants we've gone to, Mexican or otherwise, the Iguana seems modestly priced. Service is usually really good although at our last visit this was not the case. Service was not bad, we had no less than 4 different people taking care of us and it seemed that none of them knew what was going on with us. This was a most unusual experience for us, I suppose that any place can have a bad day; perhaps this visit was one of those times. But this has not detracted from our love for the Iguana, we will definitely be back.
