I saw a Charlie Kaufman film here with a woman who I dated for a few months. We both liked the movie, it was a claymation. I tried to think of smart things to say about the movie to impress her. My cousin is married to the sister of one of the movie stars, but thats not a very smart thing to say. Maybe I need to work on my critical thinking skills. Plenty of restrooms here but beware: they get crowded when the movie ends.

Nice Theater. They always have good interesting movies not just blockbuster. The inclination of chairs is good and sets are comfortable

I was saddened to hear the news that the Sunshine Cinema in the Lower East Side was closing down. It is a theater with character that pays homage to some of Hollywood's best films of today and the past. I love their weekend midnight screening of classic cinema which varies from genre to genre (I've seen everything from "The Room" to "Return of the Living Dead" here). The popcorn and drinks were a little bit on the pricey side, but all-in-all, whenever I visit the Sunshine Cinema it's always a good time.

Tried to see Last Flag Flying yesterday, 11/7, traveling via subway from southeast Brooklyn (over an hour). When I arrived I was told that the movie time as published on the website, 11:50, was incorrect and that it wouldn't show until 12:50. I had to turn around and go home, because my schedule would have been disrupted. No apology, no nothing. In addition, the theater lobby was dirty. Cheap but time-consuming lesson. Two stars only for the fine movies.

Great, eclectic movie theatre showing the small indie stuff and blockbusters in there limited release phase. Wide variety of concessions (they just stocked Melt ice cream sandwiches!), but on the pricey side. If you like having the opportunity to see something before it hits big or want to see something small that seems to be gone everywhere else, this is the theatre for you. Cozy chairs, friendly staff, and a short walk from a ton of different activities, make this the perfect start or end point for a day (or night) of activities.
