Excellent location to walk to Times Square etc. Stayed one night, room with 3 twin beds (mom, dad, 12 year old), didn't use shower. Mattress was covered in a plastic mattress pad with a sheet over it that wouldn't stay tucked in. I WOULD stay there again but I'd put the sheet on top of the bed and bring my own blanket to cover myself. Room was very narrow but floor looked very clean. Towels were thin and smaller than average. The 3 of us paid $145 for the night. Adults $65 each and kids $15. There's a communal kitchen, microwave, fridge, communal living room, and sitting room for the women only. All have TVs. Morning bagels were excellent and I made a mocha out of their coffee and hot cocoa they provided. Very old and dated but what a bargain.

This is a great place. Stayed there in 1973

My family stayed here one night in 2007. All of our luggage was stolen from the baggage room. The only reason I give this place two stars after being robbed is that they fully reimbursed us before we left the next day with a check for the full value of items we claimed were lost. Also, we had to have separate rooms because males and females are not allowed to share rooms. Also, there are only hall bathrooms and showers.

So where do I begin? There's a ac in the room that is not flush against window pane allowing air to come in. Asked to get switched to a different room and had the same problem. The heat didn't come on in the room the first night even after I brought it to the hotel staffs attention. The entire hotel appears to be in a somewhat run down condition. The hot water in the shower didn't work. The hotel staff seem to be irritated getting interrupted from their personal phone call at the desk to answer inquiries. The only good thing is the $70 price gets you a place to stay close to all the tourist spots. Save your money go somewhere else. It's a shame I've had to say that as it is a hotel for individuals in the military.

Cheap place for military and vets to stay in NYC, also host military history presentations about 20 times per year on Fridays at 7 pm.
