The eateries within the complex, including Pizza Bar, McDonalds and Auntie Anne's are great for a quick bite. We hit Starbucks on Mezzanine which was as one would expect. The bathrooms were reasonably clean and the old elevators and wooden escalators were something to experience.
This is the flagship store in NYC. It takes up the entire city block! One should really take a trip to this store. It has retained some of the old features (narrow escalators in parts of the store) while other sections are totally updated. Very glitzy. They carry the standard designers. The price points are moderate. Customer service is so-so.
The only negative is that the Customer information desk was difficult to find.
A little messy. Nice customer service tho. They're not too invasive but are there when you need the help. Plenty of selection from all different types of brands from low cost to luxury. There are bathrooms available. There are also places for a quick bite and drinks like Starbucks. Plenty of elevators and escalators to get around if you don't like taking stairs. Multiple flights with different things in each section. This Macy's also splits between male and female sections
Overall Macy's is a great shopping experience. The sales staff is very pleasant and helpful and the service provided was good. If you're a tourist then don't forget to ask for the 10% tourist discount voucher.
In the good old days, most brides would register here - they carried most of the high end china and silver. Now, their inventory is more pedestrian... as it caters to their clientele.
My latest order was 2 blouses and jeans. The website has a great selection of these items, good pictures, descriptions, size information, zoom in and out possibility. Easy to order, proceed to checkout, good discount, fast processing of the order, quick delivery. The items arrived on time, fit perfectly, quality fantastic, I could not ask for more from Macy's. I've been their customer for a very long time. If I ever had to return anything, no problem, drop off in UPS, with a label which is always inside the package. Prompt refund of funds, great service.
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the store. It is fully decked out in all its Christmas gear. Note, if you want to visit with Santa, a reservation is required. Santa is a busy boy this year.
Macy's flagship store in Manhattan is certainly an impressive department shopping centre and quite large really, a little overwhelming. It has an extensive range of brands from budget to high-end and everything in between. The kid's range was however a little limited. However, there were lots of good deals, we just needed a bit of time to find them.
Macy’s is one of the BIGGEST oldest stores in America. I think it’s an American Treasure. The inside of the store has been updated to make it modern. However, if you want to see a little of the old structure. Look at the building from the outside. Also, look at the famous wooden stairs. They are over 100 years old. Just like Macy’s. Not only local people, but people from all over the world come to shop at Macy’s. It’s one of the most visited places in New York. Although online shopping is popular. It’s nothing compared to going into a store and interacting with people, trying on clothing , shoe, makeup etc. You can often find affordable and great deals at Macy’s that won’t break the bank. The bonus, there is no need to go out and eat. You can shop and find a restaurant to eat in Macy’s. Also, if you need your java. There are several Starbucks at Macy’s. Happy Shopping!
If you visit in late Spring, be sure to hit the flower show. The main floor of the store is filled with flowers. It smells devine!
