The Millinery Center Synagogue is an Art Deco gem absolutely and joyfully out of place on Avenue of the Americas. It was built to serve the Garment District's observant Jewish community.

The space is now used to provide safe space for the poor and homeless, offering respite for the poor of the area as well as a place of prayer for the faithful. If you are able to enter and have a short tour, consider leaving a small offering to support the maintenance of the building and its possible future restoration.

During our visit, the cantor allowed us to enter (note: cover heads out of respect for the space) and offered us a tour. The structure was significantly damaged by recent storms and the water damage is evident, though not irreparable.
