This is why I and many New Yorkers, recommend Steven Lavender for physical therapy.

Steven Lavender is simply the absolute BEST physical therapist out there!

I am a 56 yo MS'er on rituxan since 2016, who has been having increasing trouble with gait. I've made such progress in 5 visits and I attribute it to both the way the Equilibrium clinic runs its clinic and what Steven Lavender brings to his practice. He is a gifted clinician and mime who could replicate my weird MS walk for me after watching for a few minutes. Then he began explaining exactly how we were going to make it better. He uses a compelling combination of knowledge, humor and a bit of goading to get you not only to MOVE, but to THINK about your movement, about each movement. PT is a team effort, and he expects you to pay attention and do your part .He makes it clear that he wants you to take with you what you learn in clinic outside. Appointments at Equilibrium are 45 minutes, and this spotless, wood floored, many windowed place is the perfect venue for listening, learning, and getting better.

Steve is a WONDERFUL therapist. He really tailored my therapy to me and adjusted the approach/strategy as we progressed. He REALLY listened to me, taking my feedback into account, making my opinion and experiences feel valuable. I experienced measurable, significant results. And on top of all that, he is HIGHLY entertaining and an incredibly nice and genuine person.

And finally, he is a great human being and will uplift your spirit!

Words are limiting and cannot adequately express what an extraordinary therapist and healer Steve Lavender is.

He's a force of nature! With an amazing knowledge of the body that goes far beyond what I experienced with other physical therapists.

Although Steve is excellent for everyone with any kind of issue needing physical therapy, it is important to note that he is particularly great with Dancers, Athletes, Elderly people and individuals that are in need of rehab from surgeries.

He is extremely experienced, and obviously very well trained. In my personal experience, being a ballet dancer, and having had a surgery on my foot for the removal of an extra bone in my ankle, he has been able to produce miracle after miracle (walking in only 4 days without the boot!) and more miracles (Starting to dance again after just 3 weeks post-surgery). I am still seeing him, as my rehabilitation is far from over, but he continuously helps me strive towards more progress, and gives me hope and most importantly reassurance, as a rehab can be very stressful and worrying. But with Steve, all is under control, you will never have to worry, he will fix you. He will produce miracles, and he will become your friend for life, because he is a sensational physical therapist that is famous for producing outstanding results, and every single one of his (many) patients, regardless of their struggles comes out of the rehab better than ever.

Steven is not only an incredible physical therapist, but also someone I am lucky enough to call my friend. I first came to Steven when I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, and after going to many doctors, neurologists, and acupuncturists, I was ready to give up hope. However, Steven was determined that we were going to beat it, and that we did. He is incredibly attentive and precise in his methods, and because of that he was able to produce lasting results. The best part about having Steven as a physical therapist is that he not only understands the physical aspects of an injury, but also the psychological, and works with you to overcome both the physical and psychological challenges. Steven Lavender was a miracle in my life, and I recommend him to anyone who needs a PT in New York City.

Please note that for dancers, he is the absolute best physical therapist imaginable (He is a former ballet dancer with the Australian ballet)

I actually should keep quiet. If too many people know what I know I'll never get in to see him!
