These vets have been taking great care of my cat, in spite of him being the worst patient -ever! They are incredibly gentle with him and it is deeply appreciated.
I took my cat in for constipation, as well as a general check-up. Dr. Vanessa Hammer was incredibly helpful in explaining all the details of what they would do to help Mr. Frost. I have been to several vets in the past and this is by far the best experience I've had. She explained not only the procedures, but why they would be beneficial and showed all cost estimates upfront. She then took the time to talk about how I could help him with minor diet adjustments and other things that truly showed the measure of her commitment to making sure I felt comfortable with the handling of my furry BFF. Would give 6 stars.
They are absolutely fantastic here. They were willing to work with me on a payment system, had flexible hours to accommodate my busy work schedule, and spent a great deal of time talking to me about my pet and her health plan. I worked with Dr. Davis, who is newer to the practice, and she was truly amazing and helped make a tough situation with my pet more manageable.
We've been going to Gotham Vet Center for years and I honestly think it's gone downhill. We're definitely thinking of changing veterinary clinics, and that's a shame because we've actually had generally great experiences with the vets themselves. Dr. Ward was our vet for awhile and she was wonderful and our current vet is also very good. But there have been multiple mistakes made on the part of the support staff (front desk and vet techs) that leave us feeling worried about the quality of care we are receiving. As an example: We once brought our dog in for a vaccine and asked that her anal glands be squeezed and her nails be trimmed while she was there. The vet tech brought her back out to us and we asked if there were any precautions we needed to take or any signs we needed to watch out for regarding the vaccination. The vet tech then brought our dog to the back room saying they forgot to take her temperature. It was obvious they forgot to actually administer the vaccine, which was the reason for the appointment. Our dog has had multiple procedures done there. On most occasions we've been given pain killers and antibiotics. But one time, they only gave us painkillers. Considering it's been the same procedure on 3 different occasions, it's clear they forgot to prescribe antibiotics after one of them, which is worrisome. There have been multiple billing mistakes (including a rather large mistake) that we've had to rectify. The support staff take a long time to submit claims to pet insurance and we constantly have to follow up, which means our reimbursements for expensive procedures take a long time to come. And, the front desk staff (some of them - not all of them) are often quite rude (there's one woman in particular...). We haven't wanted to bite the bullet and make the switch because we do like the veterinarians, but after multiple occurrences like the ones I've noted above, I don't think we can feel confident continuing to bring our dog there.
This place is great to go when your pet is sick. They are expensive but worth it. They also accepts insurance.
