Go, go, go. Plus ask for help. The staff is so knowledgeable and they can really find nice wines in reasonable price points. They also have higher end wines -- so something for everyone.
I've ordered from Astor Wines for years but this was the first time I remember going to the store. The prices are usually fair to good, free delivery in Manhattan over a reasonable amount and great customer service at the store which included help carrying my order out to the car.
They have a best selection of liquors. I've been there several times and the stuff is always honest and knowledgeable. Great location for tourists and local citizens. The store is one of my favorite on Manhattan.
Large selection of wines from various regions and spirits. There are tastings most days of the week with discounts on what's tasting. They do occasional category sales which you can sign up for their mailing list to learn about. Don't forget to take a peek at the clearance shelves to the right of the entrance for some real bargins if they have something you like. I would like to see smaller wine producing regions better represented and a larger sherry selection.
Wonderful selection. Knowledgeable staff. Great prices. Better liquor selection than the nearby Warehouse, but the wine selection isn't as good. That said, still a great selection and worth the five stars.
