Top notch shop. You must certainly come out with something special. More importantly you can have a very informed and unpretentious conversation with people who know and love their subject. As a whisky buyer I came away feeling as though they had sampled every product on their vast shelves. Good selection of single malt independent Scotch bottling. I will be back.
This may be the last great wine and spirits shop in Manhattan. Even though they could charge hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars more than MSRP, they NEVER do. During Pappy season, they do a raffle and the winners pay retail. In the most expensive city in the world, this is by far the most reasonable, the biggest selection, no "playing favorites" for customers...when they get allocated bourbons and scotches, they put them out on the shelf at MSRP. Can you name another liquor store in the city that raffles their Pappy Van Winkle and puts a case of Weller 12 on the shelf for 30 bucks a bottle??? I open just about every bottle I buy with these guys and smoke a cigar at the BYOB Cigar Lounge next door.

They have a great wine and cider selection! I always come on a Friday and they always have a tasting table set up. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.
