I absolutely, not only, can't complain about the staff (and store atmosphere), I have to rave about them! They have been amazingly helpful and knowledgeable assisting me in getting my beautiful 10 year old cocker spaniel "Jazz" off of the, expensive, ZD Science Diet food that still gave him the runs for seven years! This is, by far, not a snooty or "snotty" store, which upscale boutiques can be like, which is why I love it so much. They have helped me navigate through products, get my discounts whenever possible, straighten out my online Petco account, and Jess, the store manager, and Brynner even replaced the cans of dog food I got through Petco online because some of the cans were bent. They even price match! Most of the staff, if not all, have pets themselves so they truly are passionate about helping the customers with their pet's needs. They always treat me and my dog beautifully, with compassion, and respect. And the fact that they are friendly and remember me when I call them, makes it an even better experience. They have a wonderful array of products and supplies. What's also really great is that if they don't carry a certain product, they will find out if another Petco does. Jazz likes it so much, he drags me to the storefront even when they are closed!
Great people there, and a nice store. Minus 1 star for incredibly high prices! Yeah, I know its the UWS, but....
This place is great. They offer dog training on some days, bring in animal shelters to offer adopting shelter pets on other days. They even leave a bowl of water out for your dog just passing by.

Pros: Cute store, staff is friendly and helpful. They even have some community play groups which are awesome. And they take returns for defective items.
Cons: Training--I found the training to be just so-so and it was easier to train my pup on my own using some books and youtube videos. They don't really have a dedicated training space and end up sectioning off the front of the store to the left of the entrance. This leaves only a small training space, and blocks customers off from the refrigerated and frozen dog food. The trainer seemed knowledgeable, but was not the best at adding to my pups skill set, or working on his manners for when we go on walks. Being the only one in class, you'd think they would adjust the class to what my pup already knew but instead stuck to a lesson plan. Seems like they don't really know how to train dogs but are given some kind of lesson plan/guide. If you want your dog to actually learn I suggest buying "101 Dog Tricks". It was way better than training here.
The products that they sell, cost too much. The vet clinic that goes there is worth the trip. In terms of vaccines it cost lest the a visited to the vet and the vaccine cost lest too.
