Small variety of shops shouldn't sway you away from visiting. It's a beautiful station, third from grand central and chambers Street station. Ideal for photo opportunities and easy to access. Seating is available along the side of the glass walls. Amazing architecture. Service runs good but can be a mixed bag at weekends. Other than that it's great.
The Oculus is also host to many stores!
It's one if the major metro stations and one the best maintained ones. This station has a lot of connections and it's really convenient way to connect downtown Manhattan to midtown and Brooklyn
I enjoyed going to Jersey City. In Journal Square there's a farmers market. The prices are reasonable for farm fresh produce. The shopping mall on Bergen Ave & JFK Blvd has many stores to choice from to back to school shopping. There area also many educational institutions in the area as well, if you're considering to go back to school or learn want to something new.
A variety of places to eat, has awesome views and is accessible to many subway lines including 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C as well as a walkway to the Path through the beautifully designed Oculus!
Very futuristic and artistic looking design. Probably cost a fortune and shows it. I guess all this money spent for "show" didn't help the MTA with the subway performance, but at least we got something pretty to look at.
