Many of Sundays you can drive by and see a herd of Visitors and spectators and tourist lined up to get a peek at the wonderful Beautiful Historic Abyssinian Church. Its a joy to see so many people of different ethnicity take pleasure and time to nurture their curiosity. I respect the congregation and Pastors for opening their doors to tourist. Tourist need to be a lot more patient with visiting the Church and respect the service like they do their own The Church is a sanctuary not a Museum people come to worship.
El lugar no llegamos a conocerlo porque no nos dejaron entrar... muy estrictos con la vestimenta. A pesar de q había gente con pantalones cortos... te tratan como ganado... demasiado masificado... como no nos dejaron entrar nos fuimos a otra iglesia, quizas menos impresionante, mas austera (mont calvary) y alli nadie nos dijo nada y pudimos ver la misa tranquilamente. Ha sido una gran experiencia
Attended Easter service and was overwhelmed by the experience. Dr. Butts and his congregation were incredibly welcoming. The wait for seating is worth the reception if you are one of the few to get a seat. The Gospel choir with 3 soloists on this date blew the top off the building. The power of this sermon and setting will be remembered with a warm glow for a very long time.
